THE LUNES 27 INAUGURAN THE ICRY FESTIVAL PANAMA VIRTUAL

On Monday September 27, at 7: 30 p.m., with the presentation of the multi-prize Guatemalan film, La llamona, will be inaugurated the 14th FESTIVAL DE CINE ICARO PANAMA 2021, again in virtual version, an event specialized in the dissemination of Central American cinema organized jointly by the GECU of the Vicerectory of Extension of the University of Panama and the Foundation for Escenic and Audiovisual Arts (FAE), under the umbrella of the Cinema Direction of the Ministry of Culture.

The Icaro Panama Festival will be held up to Sunday 3 October and will have a total of 25 short and feature films, of the genres of fiction, documentary, experimental and animation, divided into two sections, the travelling sample of leading and nominated Central American films at the Icaro International Film Festival held in Guatemala last year and the selection of Panamanian films that will compete for our country at that same regional meeting this November.

It will also have a training Section, which will consist of two first-order workshops, from 27 to 30, Cinema and work flows, by the editor and filmmaker Martín Contreras and from October 29 to 3, The sound design as a narrative element, by the sonist and composer Richard Cordoba, as well as discussions with film directors that will be shown at the main time of 7: 30 p.m. and a round table with local directors whose films were selected to compete with Guatemala about production in the pandemic.

The feature films that will be seen at the festival at 7: 30 p.m. are, on Monday, 27 that already mentioned LA LLORONA (Guatemala), by renowned director Jayro Bustamante, Tuesday, 28, AVANZARÉ TAN DESSPACIO (Costa Rica), by Natalia Solórzano, and Wednesday, 29, CACHADA (El Salvador), by Marién Viñayo and Thursday, 30, and BY HOY SOMOOS RECORDOS (Honduras), by Camilo puck.
