16 HAYAH FESTIVAL INTERNAL DE CORTOMETRAJES DE PANAMA es presentado por Ministerio de Cultura de Panama - Dirección de Cine

The HAYAH Panama's International Short films festival celebrates its 17th edition, bringing together filmmakers from Panama and from around the world.

Presented by the Spanish Ministry of Culture and the film department, this event offers a platform for both national and international filmmakers to show their works and compete in different categories, with an aim to gain the Statue of the Festival and International Distribution Awards.

The competition categories are:

- Fiction

- Documentary

- Animation

- Videoclips

- New Directors Panama (category exclusively for Panama)

- Best National short film (category exclusively for Panama)

The 16th Hayah International Cortometry Festival will have its registration up to July 31 through Filmfreeway and will be held in November 2024 in Panama City.

Since its establishment, the Hayah Festival has been a launch platform for emerging filmmakers. Through its editions, it has been promoting the careers of many directors, writers and producers that have been leading the Panamanian industry.

The festival remains committed to the education and development of new talents and will have events and workshops focused on project development and opportunities to connect local and international creators.

With every edition, our cinema advances quickly, showing that the potential of his stories remains to be found. At this issue, we wish to celebrate his 17-year course, reflecting on the impact of our cultural management on Panama's cinema.
