25 NATROAMERICAN and PANAMEIN FESTIVAL PANAMA IN VIRTUAL FESTIVAL

The GECU of the Vicerectory of Extension at the University of Panama and the Foundation for Academic and Audiovisual Arts (FAE), under the umbrella of DICINE of the Ministry of Culture, are currently at the organization of the 14 ° FESTIVAL OF CINE ICARO PANAMÁ 2021, which will be held this year virtually and will include the production of 29 Central American and Panamanian films from September 27 to October 3.

The program will include 19 short and long Central American films of the genres of fiction, documentary, experimental and animation, that are part of the selection of winners of the main awards of the Central American Section of the last International Film Festival Icaro 2020, with headquarters in Guatemala, the oldest event in the region, that has become an annual quote of the main films and filmmakers of the area.

The six Panamanian films selected by a local film board composed of Carolina Borrero (Colombia), Martín Contreras (Panama) and Said Isaac (Panama) from among the 17 films that entered the contest and that will represent the country at that regional meeting next November will also be shown at this festival.

The CIARO PANAMÁ 2021 will also have a programme of training activities composed of talks and master classes developed by foreign and national guest filmmakers, aimed at strengthening the skills and knowledge of middle- and especially of youth filmmakers. cine.universitario@up.ac.pa .
