Following an economic contribution from the Fondo Cine of the Ministry of Culture, the film "Cotito" that tells about the massacre in Panamanian Highlands in 1941 against a comune of German Swiss settlers was completed.

The film project "Cotito" for his presentation became a credit to a money backup by MiCultura and is scheduled to be released in rooms this year. The documentary "Cotito" was directed by Martín Contreas and produced by Elias Jiménez and also with the support of SERTV, COPA AIRLINES, and the Mayor's office of Panama ALMALDIA DE PANAMA.

The documentary "Cotito" was filmed at locations from Panama City and Highlands in the province of Chiriquí and as his director explained, "A book entitled Holocaust in Panama came into my hands years ago and worked at the National Library of Panama."

He added that he then initiated an investigation that led me to discover hundreds of details about European migration from interwar periods to Latin America and especially to Panama.

Currently, the project is currently undergoing production with the editor Aldo Rey Valderrama ("Kimura," "Panama in a Day," "Panama Radio," "The Fourth Power" and "La Estado Seca") and is expected to have the film completed by mid 2022, so as to start the circuit of national and international festivals.
