NATIONAL CONCURSO OF CORTOMETRAJES 2024
The Ministry of Culturedeclare open theNATIONAL CONCURSO OF CORTOMETRAJES 2024,That aims to promote film and audiovisual activity through the creation of short films and to strengthen the film market with a more diversity of national production. It aims at young people between 18 and 25 years old with the aim of promoting the talent training of new generations of audiovisual creators.
The short film project should consider all phases of production (preproduction, production and after production) of a Panamanian film and should be completed within a maximum of 6 (6) months after the first payout has been paid up. It should have a maximum of 20 minutes and at least 5 minutes.
The projects submitted should have been free from production.
The film works may be of gender, theme and free technique. Projects that damage the image of the country or that promote or provoke the commission of illicit acts are excluded, projects that promote some political group, advertising projects, projects and works that are described as pornography.
Natural persons with Panamanian nationality duly registered with the National Registry of the Cinematographic and Audiovisual Industry of the Ministry of Culture and with the Cultural Information System (SICULTURA) can participate in this contest.
The categories of the National Cortometrage Competition are:
- Fiction short film (5 Fiction awards).
- Documentary short film (5 Documentary Awards).
- Animation short film (2 animation awards).
A total of 5 Fictional short films will be awarded for TREINTA and MIL BALBOas with 00 / 100 (B / .35.000.00). Each winning project will be awarded a prize for SIETE MIL BALBOas with 00 / 100 (B / .7.000.00).
A prize will be awarded for Documentary short films with an amount of VEINTICINCO MIL BALBOAS CON 00 / 100 (B / .250.00). Each winning project will be awarded with the amount of MIN MIL BALBOAS CON 00 / 100 (B / .5.000.00) as an award.
Two awards will be awarded for Animation Shortings with an amount of VINTE MIL BALBOAS CON 00 / 100 (B /. 20,00.00). Each winning project will be awarded DIEZ MIL BALBOAS CON 00 / 100 (B /. 10,00.00) as a prize.
The submission of postulations is performed by sending the project with information requested through the mail:concursocine@micultura.gob.pafrom 8: 00 a.m., from 18 October 2024 to 21 November 2024 at 4: 00 p.m.
No postulations will be received after 4: 00 p.m., from the date indicated in the schedule of these bases. It is recommended to propose with good advance as the mail is the only means of posting and the schedule will not be modified by any technical faults or disadvantages.
