Objective:

To walk through the history of horror cinema from its classical models at the silent age of cinema and to its new pits, passing through countries with more solid, constant and propositive macabra film.

Thus, this course consists of eight sessions dedicated to horror cinema, both predominant throughout history (Europe and the United States) and to emerging and peripheral cinema (Asia, Latin America) and new languages (extreme, arthouse).

The eight sessions have been interspersed with a view to establishing a simultaneous international context and at the same time to advance the parallel evolution of gender on both sides of the world.

The agenda:

1. Europa I. From White and Black to Technicolor. From classical silent period in Germany to the apogee of Hammer Films.

2. The U.S. I. From Clicism to Rhea. From Classic Universal Monsters to Gore Minsanity.

3. Europe II. The Italian renewal and German exacerbation from giallo to ultragore.

4. Countering modernity. EU 70's exploitation vs. Blockbuster 80-90s (EU / Europe)

5. Japan, India and Turkey. Terror, folklor and tradition.

6. Latin America I. The endemic tropicalization. Mexico) 124) Argentina) 124) Brazil
